Skate Zen...
I mentioned Kilian Martin in a previous post, To Almost Die For Suits..., and here is a rather splendid video of the freestyle wonder, which has been directed, filmed and edited by Brett Novak. If only I was younger, with better knees and more patience...

Bump in the Night...
Monsters tells the story of two Americans trying to make their way back to the United States through the "infected zone" of Mexico. This brilliant feature that was written and directed by Welshman Gareth Edwards is a compellingly well-rounded sci-fi film, which is no mean feat considering that the majority of the film was improvised by Edwards himself and his two leads, Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able.
At the heart of the film is the blossoming relationship between (real life couple) McNairy and Able's characters, which adds a surprisingly tender dimension to an already highly accomplished piece of science fictional cinema.
Monsters is out on DVD in the UK April 11th.

To Almost Die For Suits...
Having seen the recent video for French fashion magazine Man About Town starring freestyle skateboarder Kilian Martin on Prepidemic, I was reminded of a video that Adam Kimmel commissioned to showcase his suits about 2 years ago. Mouthful of Diamonds...
Phantogram are guitarist Josh Carter and keyboardist Sarah Barthel and this is the video to their opening track on debut album Eyelid Movies, which was released in February of last year. Describing their music as 'streetbeat, psych pop' the duo has opened for the likes of The xx, Yeasayer, Zero 7 and fellow Barsuk Records signees Ra Ra Riot.
I fell in love with this track and band last year and still find them consistently cropping up in various playlists of mine. Get on it.
